OBAMA NOMINATES BLACK FEMALE AS U.S SURGEON GENERAL

Barack Obama does it gain. After the history making nominations of Chris Bolden the first African American to head NASA, and Sonia Sotomayor the first Hispanic person to be nominated Justice of the Supreme Court; Obama has nominated Dr Regina Benjamin for the role of U.S Surgeon General.

Dr. Benjamin is not a stranger to breaking records, she was also the first black woman to become president of the state medical society of Alabama. Last year she also recieved a MacArthur Foundation 'Genius Grant'.

Its inspiring to see such positive strides being made in the right direction.
