4 Ways to Avoid Breaking your New Year's Resolution



If you're like most people you have probably made a few life resolutions to kick off the new year; and just like everybody else you will have broken each and every one of them before January is over. 

2012 can be the year that you actually keep your New Year's Resolutions by following 4 easy steps.

1. Make real, big resolutions.

Whatever your resolutions are make sure they are big enough to excite you. Make sure that if you accomplished each and every one of them, come year end you will feel like there was no better way that you could have spent those 365 days of life the Lord has blessed you with. Most of all, make sure that your resolutions are real and that they are realistic for your situation.

2. Everybody messes up sometimes.

Even the best of us drop the ball; as humans we all make mistakes. No matter what you do, don't write off a whole year just because you ate a few extra calories that week, or you didn't finish your night class assignments on time. The point is, just write-off the times you mess up as a learning experience and do it bigger and better the next time around.

3. Stay focused

It sounds like a cliche' I know; but keep your eye on the prize. Try to visualize what you will feel like next year if you have achieved each and every goal you set for yourself, how much better will your life be if you make the changes and the improvements you resolve to make? Tap into that emotion and visual any time you feel like you want to give up.

4. Never give up
