Rihanna Full Interview with Oprah

Rihanna's full length interview with Oprah Winfrey is finally here. I can't front, this one is a bit of a tearjerker. I snatched through several Kleenex when she discussed the death of her Grandmother and the loss of her best-friend Chris Brown, due to the widely publicised domestic violence attack in 2009. Last but not least, when she gifted her mother with a sprawling mansion in her home country of Barbados.

I found these moment particularly touching because losing a loving Grandmother is something you never really get over and the pain associated with having a close friend switch on you in an instant, wounds to the very core. Also because I have such a sweet, sweet mother who I plan to spoil with gifts and love so Rihanna's magnanimous gesture really moved me.

I'm sure when you watch it you will be touched by something else that resonates with your own life experiences, and that is what is so genius about Oprah. She conducts an interview in a way that gets to those universal topics that really matter to everyone.

Before we get into the interview, here are a few gems from the interview;

On her relationship with Chris Brown

We’ve been working on our friendship again and now we are very close friends. We’ve built our trust again. We love each other and we will probably always will. That’s not anything you can change or shut off if you’ve ever been in love.

On Forgiveness

I have forgiven him. It took me a long time. I was angry for a long time. I felt like this is not my fault, this is not me doing this but still I had to worry.  I was resentful. I had a grudge. I was dark and it was coming out in my music and in my clothes, it was coming out in my attitude and I didn’t like that feeling. It was heavy.
